Recall a transmittal
Withdraw a transmittal that went out wrong, keep the full history on the record, and issue a corrected one.
1 min read
A transmittal cannot be edited after sending, and that is by design. When one goes out wrong, you do not fix it quietly: you recall it, and the recall itself becomes part of the record.
When to recall
- You attached the wrong sheet or the wrong revision.
- You sent it to the wrong recipients, or missed someone who changes what should have been said.
- The subject, reason, or message is wrong enough to mislead the people acting on it.
Recall the transmittal
- 1
In the sidebar, open Projects, open your project, then click Transmittals.
- 2
Open the transmittal you need to withdraw and click Recall.

Confirm. The status changes to Recalled and recipients can no longer respond to it.

What Recalled means
A Recalled transmittal stops being actionable: recipients cannot acknowledge it or respond to it any more. But it is not deleted. It stays in the register with its documents, recipients, responses, and dates intact, so anyone reading the history later sees exactly what went out and when it was withdrawn.
The recall is on the record too
Recalling a transmittal is logged in the project change log: who recalled it and when. The correction is as traceable as the mistake.
Issue the corrected transmittal
A recall only withdraws the wrong issue. Follow it with a new transmittal carrying the right documents and recipients, and mention the recalled number in the Message so recipients can connect the two.
